Citizen's latest Series 8 mechanical watch features a captivating inner dive bezel, 200m water resistance, and Caliber 9051

Hot on the heels of announcing four new Series 8 automatic watches, Citizen has now introduced one more addition to the lineup with the launch of the new NB6060-07A. The watch is actually part of the sportier 890 Mechanical sub-series within the Series 8 collection, and it’s hands down the most rugged and sportiest option in the lineup.
The Citizen NB6060-07A sports a crisp white dial accented with deep blue details, applied indices, and a bold handset. Like other Series 8 offerings, the dial features a textured Japanese checkerboard pattern that extends to the back of the strap. The 42.6mm stainless steel case features a five-piece construction with contrasting hairline and mirror finishing.
The bidirectional rotating inner bezel is another visual delight. It can be smoothly operated by a dedicated crown at the 2 o’clock position and adds to the watch’s sport-forward character. You also get a discreet date window at the 3 o’clock position. Around back, a sapphire exhibition window shows off Citizen’s in-house Caliber 9051 automatic movement. It beats at a smooth 28,800 vph, packs a 42-hour power reserve, and offers up to 16,000 A/m magnetic resistance.
Compared to its recently announced siblings—like the green-dialed NB6080-51W and the flashy gold NB6085-57W—the 890 NB6060-07A is a totally different beast. It swaps steel for a PU strap and offers upgraded 200-meter water resistance. And despite its more robust spec sheet, the NB6060-07A weighs just 122g, thanks to its lightweight polyurethane strap, which is noticeably lighter than the 147g metal-bracelet NB6080-51W and NB6085-57W. It is, however, slightly thicker at 11.7mm compared to the slimmer 10.4mm profile of its siblings.
The Citizen Series 8 890 NB6060-07A is now available in the US from Citizen’s online store and official retailers for $1,295. It’s set to launch in Japan on March 19 for ¥187,000. Availability in other markets, including Europe, has not yet been announced.
