New Citizen Promaster Navihawk chronograph launched with B620 Eco-Drive caliber and sapphire crystal

The introduction of the Citizen Promaster Navihawk CA4664-60E shows that the company is moving towards more compact aviation timepieces. While some previous Navihawk watches have case sizes above 45 mm, this new black colorway uses a 40 mm stainless steel case.
The dial features a black sunray finish with high-contrast red accents and a bi-directional slide-rule bezel designed for fuel consumption and distance calculations. This "midi-sized" approach addresses a long-standing market gap for pilot chronographs that bring professional-grade functionality without huge wrist profiles.
The CA4664-60E is built around the in-house B620 Eco-Drive movement. As a light-powered solar caliber, it maintains a 270-day power reserve from a full charge. The 1/5-second chronograph measures up to 60 minutes and includes a 24-hour sub-dial for day/night orientation. Citizen has also used a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a 20-bar (200-meter) water resistance rating, making it technically viable for swimming and snorkeling.
This release comes right after the retail launch of Seiko’s Prospex Speedtimer series. Retail listings for the SSC961P1 (white), SSC963P1 (pink), and SSC965P1 (mint green) have appeared at $963.60 SGD. While Seiko’s V192-powered chronographs have more vintage racing design cues and a 39 mm footprint, the Citizen CA4664-60E has a more utilitarian technical profile at a lower entry price, specifically outclassing the Seiko’s 100 m depth.
