Citizen has unveiled a slim, radio-controlled dress watch inspired by the ceremonial Hikime Kaburaya arrow used in Shinto rituals. Limited to just 500 pieces, the Eco-Drive model pairs a mother-of-pearl dial and Super Titanium case with world time, a perpetual calendar, and multi-region atomic timekeeping.

Citizen has announced a new limited edition watch in its high-end Exceed line, dubbed the CB1110-70W "Oath of Arrow". It serves as the follow-up to last year’s CB1115-68W and continues the series' focus on traditional Japanese symbolism.

The latest model takes inspiration from "Hikime Kaburaya" (frog-eye arrow), a whistling kabura arrow used in Shinto rituals, archery, and Japanese martial arts that is said to signal new beginnings and ward off misfortune. Citizen translates this motif through a partially white mother-of-pearl dial, constructed using a clad-shell technique that inlays shimmering shell segments at the center against a black backdrop for a refined yet symbolic look.

While the aesthetic is rooted in Japanese tradition, the internals are built on Citizen's modern Eco-Drive H149 caliber. And unlike standard quartz movements, this solar-powered watch can stay charged with just a touch of daylight or any artificial light. It also features radio-controlled timekeeping with reception across Japan, China, the US, and Europe, along with a perpetual calendar and a 26-city world time function.

The CB1110-70W is quite slim, measuring just 8.5mm thick, and it secures with a three-fold push-style clasp made of Super Titanium. The dial is protected by a sapphire glass crystal with a clarity coating for high visibility, and you also get 50 meter water resistance and magnetic resistance (Type 1).

Citizen is only producing 500 units of the CB1110-70W "Arrow of Oath. The watch is priced at ¥132,000 and will go on sale in Japan on February 5.
