The Citizen Promaster series is getting a new burgundy-dialed GMT, and it is a colorway that is a shift away from the traditional black and blue utility palettes commonly seen in the professional line. This model has the structural DNA of the Endeavor/Land series, equipped with a 44 mm stainless steel case with a durability-centric design. The primary feature is the dual-time capability, facilitated by a dedicated GMT hand with a yellow-bordered arrow tip and an engraved, fixed 24-hour outer bezel. Unlike some previous models in the BJ7140 series that used internal rotating compass rings, this specific variant instead uses a high-contrast Arabic numeral layout and a simplified bezel.
The dial employs a granular, matte texture that is intended to minimize glare and light diffusion for extra visibility in high-luminosity environments. There is a magnified date window at the three o'clock position - protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. A lot of buyers who are interested in the Land GMT line have mostly focused on its 200-meter water resistance rating, which is typically reserved for divers yet provided here in a field-styled casing. However, the 44 mm diameter and substantial weight (approximating 217 g on a full steel bracelet) can kill its appeal for users with smaller wrist profiles.
The B877 movement is still one of Citizen’s most reliable workhorse calibers, with a six-month power reserve on a full charge and a secondary time zone that can be set independently. Going by past market data, this model will have a standard MSRP of approximately $595.
