Citizen Europe has officially added three new references to its collection of light-powered chronographs: the AT2565-05E, AT2566-88E, and AT2569-04L. Each timepiece utilizes a 43 mm stainless steel case with a profile height of 10.7mm, which is a relatively slim silhouette for a modern chronograph. The series is characterized by a unique concentric circle dial texture and a fixed external bezel equipped with a tachymeter scale for speed measurement.
The mechanical foundation for these releases is the Caliber H500 Eco-Drive movement. As a solar-quartz engine, the H500 converts any light source into electrical energy, providing a 150-day power reserve on a full charge with a rated monthly accuracy of ±15 seconds. The movement supports a 1-second chronograph that measures up to 60 minutes, alongside a 24-hour sub-dial at the 2 o'clock position and a date window at 4 o'clock. The caliber also includes an insufficient charging warning, where the second hand shifts to two-second intervals when the battery is depleted.
Design configurations vary across the three references. The AT2565-05E has a black-plated stainless steel case with green-toned sub-dials and is delivered on a textured black rubber strap. The AT2566-88E features a standard silver-tone finish with a bi-color red and black bezel insert and a multi-link stainless steel bracelet, resulting in a total weight of 153 g. Finally, the AT2569-04L comes equipped with a blue dial with a black and silver bezel insert, also utilizing a black rubber strap. While the 10-bar water resistance makes these models suitable for moderate aquatic activities, the choice of mineral crystal over sapphire in this price bracket will be a big mechanical trade-off for consumers who'd prefer impact resistance over scratch prevention.
