Citizen USA has officially announced the launch of two new aviation-inspired chronographs under the Terra Force sub-label: the CA4746-08X and the CA4747-05L. These models will occupy a mid-tier position in Citizen’s extensive Eco-Drive catalog, featuring large Arabic numerals and high-contrast sub-dials. Both timepieces utilize a 43 mm silver-tone stainless steel case with a lug width of 22 mm, so it will likely have a substantial wrist presence, which is not new to the pilot watch genre.
The CA4746-08X features a dark brown dial with gold-toned hands, crown, and pushers, which leads to a distinct two-tone design that is uncommon to standard military palettes. In contrast, the CA4747-05L has a more traditional monochromatic blue dial with silver-toned hardware. A major functional difference lies in the strap choices: the brown-dial variant is equipped with a standard two-piece leather strap with a buckle, whereas the blue-dial version utilizes a leather NATO-style (single-pass) strap, which adds additional height to the 43 mm case on the wrist. Both crystals are mineral, which have better shatter resistance compared to sapphire but are still more susceptible to surface scratches over time.
The Terra Force series is driven by the Caliber B620 Eco-Drive movement. This light-powered quartz engine provides a 9-month power reserve on a full charge and comes with an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. The chronograph complication is capable of measuring up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments. While the "aviation-inspired" branding is supported by the inclusion of a tachymeter scale on the internal bezel, the watches still have a practical 100-meter water resistance rating.
While both watches will be priced at $425 each, exact availability hasn't been disclosed as of writing.
