Right on New Year's Day, Citizen Hong Kong has introduced another new Promaster Sky variant, the AT8220-55W. The newest addition to its aviation-centered lineup gets a fresh dial treatment and the same tool-watch hardware. The new model is listed with a stainless steel case and bracelet, alongside a blue and green colored dial that shifts in tone depending on the light.
Based on the images, the watch features a large, instrument-style layout with prominent Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, thick applied hour markers, and broad hands filled with luminous material. A rotating slide rule bezel with engraved compass markings surrounds the dial. The bezel appears to be operated via a crown at the 8 o’clock position, while the main crown and pushers sit on the right side of the case.
Citizen specifies a 48 mm case diameter with a thickness of 13.4 mm. The watch uses sapphire crystal and a solid stainless steel caseback. The bracelet is also stainless steel, with solid links and a signed folding clasp visible in the images.
Inside, the AT8220-55W runs on Citizen’s H804 Eco-Drive movement, which is powered by light and supports radio-controlled timekeeping. Functions include a chronograph, world time, perpetual calendar, date display, and a 24-hour sub-dial. City codes are printed around the outer dial for multi-time-zone support.
The dial layout is dense but structured, with three sub-dials and a framed date window positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock. Overall, the AT8220-55W is pretty consistent with the Promaster Sky formula. It's priced at HK$6,280, which roughly translates to $807. If you're looking for a more affordable option, you can check out the Citizen Promaster JY8075-51E on Amazon.
