Alongside the recently unveiled NB6044-54L GMT Promaster, Citizen's new pair of Eco-Drive chronograph watches has been revealed via @plus9time on Instagram. The models, CA0843-89L and CA0847-88H, were announced through Citizen Hong Kong and are now appearing on retailer previews.
The two watches share the same case design and movement but look to be different in finishing and dial texture. The CA0843-89L features a blue patterned dial paired with an amber-gold stainless-steel case and bracelet, giving it a more dressed look. The CA0847-88H takes a more subdued approach with a gray patterned dial and a dark gray ion-plated case and bracelet.
Both watches use a 43 mm stainless-steel case that is 11.5 mm thick, which keeps the profile wearable despite the large chronograph layout. They run on the Citizen B612 Eco-Drive solar calibre, which removes the need for battery replacements and drives the chronograph, date display at 3 o’clock, and three-subdial layout. A tachymeter scale sits around the outer rim, with a tool-style design even though these models are positioned for daily use instead of sport timing.
The casebacks are stainless steel and unornamented, showing standard model and calibre markings. Each watch comes on a solid-link metal bracelet with a folding clasp. Water-resistance details weren’t included in the Instagram post, but similar models in the line typically offer 100m.
Pricing and regional availability have not yet been confirmed. Considering previous Eco-Drive chronographs in this segment normally land in a mid-range bracket, regional release timing should become clearer as retailer listings update.
