One day after the reveal of the Eco-Drive One AQ5010-01A, two more new limited-edition models from Citizen have shown up on Instagram, including a collaboration piece inspired by the 1982 classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and another fresh release in the brand's ultra-thin Eco-Drive One lineup. Both models take very different design approaches, but share tight production numbers.
The first release is the Citizen NH9144-55L, a mechanical watch themed around the iconic flying bicycle scene from the film. The blue dial shows Elliot and E.T. silhouetted against a moon-lit sky, sitting above an open-heart window and two sub-dials for running seconds and a 24-hour display. The stainless-steel case measures 38.9mm in diameter and 11.2mm in thickness, paired with a brushed three-link bracelet. Inside is the 8227 automatic calibre, visible through the exhibition case-back. Only 350 units will be produced, and the packaging includes a custom E.T. presentation box matching the movie artwork. The metal finishing appears to be darker than standard steel - more like a gunmetal tone that complements the blue galaxy dial.
The second watch revealed is the Citizen Eco-Drive One AQS0202-02L. This model takes a much more minimal direction. It's finished in amber-tinted gold over stainless-steel with a deep blue dial and applied baton indices. It has a 36.6mm case, just 4.5mm thick, making it one of Citizen’s thinnest solar models. Power comes from the 8845 Eco-Drive calibre, which uses light to recharge and eliminates the need for battery replacement. Instead of a bracelet, it ships with a black leather strap and matching gold-tone buckle. This version is limited to 250 pieces and comes engraved with the edition number on the caseback.
Both watches should be a treat for collectors. Release dates and pricing have not yet been shared through official retail channels, but the limited production sizes likely mean that both models will sell out quickly once listings go live in Japan.
