Citizen USA has added two more chronographs to its Eco-Drive range - the CA4730-08E and CA4730-59A. Both models have the same core platform but take slightly different visual directions through dial treatment and strap choice.
At the center is a 43 mm stainless steel case with a fixed bezel that uses angular inserts rather than a smooth dive-style profile. The bezel markings are bold and functional. They frame a three-sub-dial chronograph layout with a date window placed between 4 and 5 o’clock. Pushers sit at the usual 2 and 4 o’clock positions, with a relatively compact side profile for a sports chronograph.
The CA4730-08E uses a black dial with a pronounced textured pattern and contrasting yellow details, including the chronograph seconds hand. It has a black strap as well, which gives it a more utilitarian look. The CA4730-59A takes a much cleaner route, utilizing a silver textured dial with a blue seconds hand and a stainless steel bracelet.
Both watches are powered by Citizen’s acclaimed B620 Eco-Drive movement, which runs on light and eliminates the need for regular battery changes. Chronograph functionality is as standard as it gets, since the major USP of the watches appears to be daily reliability rather than specialized timing use.
Judging by the lifestyle images released alongside the announcement, Citizen will market these models as everyday sports watches rather than niche tools. With identical sizing and internals, the choice should come down to finish and wear style rather than features. The CA4730-59A is priced at $650, while the CA4730-08E is priced at $595.
