Alongside the two new aviation-themed chronographs, Citizen is introducing another new mechanical-looking design to its mid-sized sports range with the announcement of the CA4733-00L. It diverges from the aforementioned pilot-inspired designs of other recent releases, and instead goes for a more contemporary, "integrated" design language through its rose gold-toned stainless steel case and a blue textured dial. The dial features a horizontal wave-like pattern, which lends a high-contrast background for the rose gold markers and hands, greatly improving legibility despite the overall complexity of the three-sub-dial layout.
The timepiece is built around a 43 mm stainless steel chassis, finished with a rose gold-tone coating that extends to the crown and pushers. A key feature of this reference is its blue bezel insert, which utilizes an angular, geometric font for the timing scale, further setting it apart from the traditional rounded numerals found on standard divers or field watches. The case is paired with a flexible blue rubber or silicone strap.
Internally, the CA4733-00L is equipped with the B620 Eco-Drive caliber. This movement is a staple of Citizen’s solar-powered line, and it's capable of converting any light source into energy to maintain a charge for several months. The movement supports a 1/5-second chronograph function, a 24-hour indicator, and a date window located at the 4:30 position. By housing this reliable quartz-based engine in a more stylized, rose gold-toned exterior, Citizen is clearly targeting consumers who like maintenance-free operation packed into a more modern design. The CA4733-00L is priced at $625.
