The iPhone 17 series has done quite well for Apple with the company showing the strongest growth amongst the top five phone makers in 2025. That being said, it is already deep in the cycle of developing the next generation of iPhones, as well as the first ever foldable iPhone that is expected to arrive this year. There have been quite a few leaks and rumors around the new series and now, a well-known industry analyst has shared specifications for three of the iPhone 18 models, including the ‘Fold’.
Jeff Pu is one of the prolific industry analysts with insights about Apple’s production pipeline and supply chain. He is the MD, Tech Research, at GF Securities and based on the company’s data, Pu has shared the specifications for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Fold (via 9to5Mac). Some of the specs have been shared previously by leakers, but there is some new points as well, key among them being 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM for all three models and camera details for the trio.
As per the table above, the iPhone Fold is expected to carry an 18 MP selfie camera on the cover display, as well as an 18 MP camera on the unfolded display. The dual rear camera setup is said to include two 48 MP shooters, and the phone will come with the company’s C2 modem. Pu has also reiterated that the iPhone Fold will not have Face ID, but use Touch ID instead. It’s casing will be made out of a combination of titanium and aluminium.
On the other hand, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are said to come with 48 MP triple rear camera setups, Face ID in the dynamic island, and aluminum casings. The screen sizes shared by Pu are in line with the recent leaks from Digital Chat Station.
As for launch timeline, it has long been rumored that Apple will stagger its iPhone 18 series launch, with the 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Fold releasing this year. The base iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e, on the other hand, will arrive in 2027, along with the iPhone Air 2.
