Apple is expected to start serial production of the iPhone 18 series before mid-February 2026. As such, we will likely begin to receive concrete information regarding the design and specs of the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max soon. Thanks to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, we may now already know the display specs of the iPhone 18 series and the iPhone Air 2.
Per information revealed by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, and translated by Ice Universe on X, the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Air 2 will all feature 120 Hz LTPO OLED displays. As for the dimensions and the Face ID setup, the DCS claims:
- iPhone 18 to have a 6.27-inch display with Dynamic Island
- iPhone 18 Pro to feature a 6.27-inch panel with an under-display cut-out area
- iPhone 18 Pro Max to have a 6.88-inch screen with an under-display cut-out area
- iPhone Air 2 to have a 6.55-inch panel with Dynamic Island
So, the iPhone 18 series phones and the iPhone Air 2 are expected to retain practically the same screen sizes as the respective iPhone 17 series devices and the iPhone Air.
As for the “under-display cut-out area” mentioned by DCS, Apple is rumored to be looking into reducing the size of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by moving some elements of the Face ID system under the display. This could potentially lead to a fully under-display Face ID and front camera system for the 20th anniversary iPhones.
DCS’s latest iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 leak, combined with previous information, makes it seem like the iPhone 18 series will bring conservative design changes. So, most differences between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 18 phones could be under the hood.
