In recent months, there has been a lot of talk about certain aspects of the first iPhone Fold, such as the display, which is expected to have a "crease-less" display, the return of Touch ID on the side instead of Face ID as the authentication method, and the rather unusual format of the first Apple foldable. According to a recent specs leak from an analyst, it will be equipped with two 48 MP cameras on the back and two 18 MP front-facing cameras integrated into the two displays.
Following the various render images, Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station has now just published hands-on images of very early dummy models, which are intended to give a much more concrete idea of the unusual and comparatively very compact format of the first Apple foldable. According to the information so far, it is a very compact, rather square-looking iPhone when folded, with a 5.3-inch cover display. The leaked CAD models measure 120.6 x 83.8 x 9.6 mm, making it smaller in height than Apple's last mini-iPhone, the iPhone 13 Mini, but naturally slightly larger in width and thickness.
Opening up the foldable phone, potentially named iPhone Fold, reveals the advantage of its significantly larger 7.8-inch flexible display, whose format is very similar to the wider Huawei Pura X. The dummy photos below also clearly show a camera module reminiscent of the iPhone Air, but with a dual camera instead of a single camera. Whether the dummy design, based on leaked CAD files, is actually accurate cannot be confirmed by anyone outside of Apple management, but there's a good chance that iPhone Mini fans will receive a similarly compact and considerably more expensive successor around September this year.
