Huawei has pioneered the '16:10 foldable' smartphone in 2025 with a device footprint now thought to be adopted in Apple's own first-gen foldable device.
Now, it seems that the "iPhone Fold" will actually be bigger than the Pura X with a main screen measuring 7.7 inches in diagonal length, as asserted by the famous leaker Digital Chat Station.
It is also tipped to have a cover display measuring 5.5 inches...which might mean the iPhone Fold might in fact look most like a fellow inaugural foldable than any other.
The 7.8/5.8-inch Google Pixel Fold had a deeply unusual wide form-factor of its own on its launch with its 17.4:9 cover display, although it was ditched for one that conferred a much more normal 20:9 counterpart on its Pixel 9 Pro Fold successor.
It seems it is good enough for Apple, though, as it is reportedly aspiring for a much more unusual ~14:1 aspect-ratio in the "iPhone Fold's" outer display, while the inner display might be closer to 4:3.
The device is also thought to be the first to support certain iOS 26 features, and also the first to restore Touch ID to iPhones after so many generations.
