Earlier this month, Vivo introduced its latest X Fold5 foldable smartphone in the Indian market. Now, the brand’s latest foldable is officially available for purchase in India. Available in a single titanium grey color option, the Vivo X Fold5 is priced at INR 149,999 (~$1,720/€1,490). Consumers can purchase the smartphone via Vivo India’s official website, Amazon, and other authorized retailers.
The Vivo X Fold5 comes as a direct successor to 2023’s X Fold3 Pro. Speaking of processors, the latest foldable retains the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from the X Fold3 Pro. It runs Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. As far as software support is concerned, Vivo has promised four major OS upgrades (Android 16, 17, 18, and 19) and five years of security patches.
Furthermore, the Vivo X Fold5 sports a large 8.03-inch LTPO AMOLED main display and a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen. Both displays deliver the same 120 Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits peak brightness but offer different screen resolutions. For example, the main screen outputs at 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution, while the cover delivers 2748 x 1172 resolution.
Dimensionally, the device measures just 0.92 cm (0.36 inch) in thickness when folded and weighs around 217 grams (0.47 lbs). Despite having a slim profile, the device boasts a huge 6,000 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired and 40 W wireless charging. Plus, it also supports reverse wired and wireless charging.
For photography, there’s a triple rear camera setup at the back co-developed with ZEISS, consisting of a 50 MP primary camera, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide shooter. Upfront, you’ll get two 20 MP selfie cameras for video chats. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IPX8 and IPX9 ingress protection ratings, and stereo speakers.
