The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank has been released with a noticeably slimmer design than the Super Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5000 (102 x 69.6 x 8.7 mm) launched last year. Specifically, it measures just 6 mm (0.2 inch) thick, which is only a touch thicker than the iPhone Air at 5.6 mm, making it one of the slimmest magnetic power banks currently available.
The power bank snaps magnetically onto the back of compatible phones for wireless charging. It supports up to 15W wireless charging for Xiaomi 17 devices, but iPhones are limited to 7.5W, which is slower than newer magnetic power banks like the Ugreen MagFlow 10,000 mAh (curr: $69.99 at Amazon) that support up to 25W with Qi2. That said, it can deliver faster 22.5W wired charging through its USB-C port. Moreover, based on photos shared online, the power bank also appears to fit cleanly on the back of several devices, including the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro, and OnePlus 15.
Despite its slim design, the Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank packs a high-density 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which should be enough for at least one full charge on most smartphones. Four LEDs show the remaining battery level, and a dedicated power button lets users start or stop charging.
The power bank itself is housed in an aluminum alloy shell with a smooth metallic finish, while the phone-facing side is finished with fire-resistant fiberglass. Xiaomi also claims the power bank offers ten layers of safety protection along with dual NTC temperature sensors to help prevent overheating during charging.
Pricing and availability
Xiaomi has launched the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank in Japan, where it is priced at ¥7,980 (around US$50.44) and available through Amazon and Xiaomi’s official store. However, the company has not shared any details regarding a wider global release. Alternatively, the 8.7 mm-thick Super Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5000 is already available in the UK and other EU countries.
