Xiaomi 17 Ultra: New leak reveals global model could be set for early release

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has taken a step closer to being released globally. For context, the device debuted at the end of last year to surpass the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in the company's flagship lineup. That was only true in China though, with the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra currently serving consumers globally.

However, the global version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has now surfaced on Geekbench. Identifiable by its 2512BPNDAG model number, the global variant is currently expected to be joined by only the Xiaomi 17 outside China. Unsurprisingly, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra maintains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset in its global guise. Also, the device will be available outside China running Android 16 from the off, unlike the recent Xiaomi 15T Pro (curr. $844.50 on Amazon).

Moreover, the listing confirms that Xiaomi plans to sell its latest flagship globally with its peak RAM configuration too, which is not always a given. While 16 GB of RAM now appears set in stone, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will offer a cheaper 12 GB variant beyond its home market as well. Regardless, a leak of this kind often indicates that a device could be close to launching. Thus, we would not be surprised if the Xiaomi 17 Ultra made its global debut in mid to late February rather than during MWC 2026 in early March. Unfortunately, the device's battery capacity will be capped for its global release.
