New Citizen "Marine 188" stainless-steel watches launch with J810 Eco-Drive caliber

Citizen Spain has officially announced two new colorways for its "OF" collection under the Marine 188 sub-label: the AW1887-56L and the AW1888-53E. These models follow a diver-inspired design, evident by the large, luminous indices and fixed bezels. Both timepieces are housed in 43 mm stainless steel cases with a thickness of 12.4 mm.

The AW1887-56L features an ice-blue dial with a vertical textured pattern, paired with a black PVD-coated case and bracelet. This reference comes with copper-toned ("ip cobre") hands and black indices, which gives the whole design visual contrast against the pale blue dial. In contrast, the AW1888-53E uses a more traditional black dial and bezel accented with golden-toned markers and a red seconds hand. While the AW1887-56L is priced at a promotional price of €215.10 (approx. $255 USD), the AW1888-53E is priced at €179.10 (approx. $212 USD) on the same EU retailer website.

Both watches in the series are driven by the Caliber J810 Eco-Drive movement. This solar-quartz engine provides an 8-month power reserve on a full charge and features a simple date window at the 3 o'clock position. Despite the "dive watch" appearance, the bezels are fixed and the crystal is mineral glass, which provides impact resistance but is less scratch-resistant than sapphire. Both models will be delivered on stainless steel bracelets featuring a double-pusher folding clasp.
