Xiaomi has been teasing the Redmi Turbo 5 series for quite a while, and now, the lineup has an official launch date. As the company has just announced, this new mid-range phone lineup will make a Chinese debut on January 29, 2026, which is just a few days away.
The company has further confirmed that the lineup will initially introduce two mid-range phones, and among the two, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will be the upper-end option. This performance-focused smartphone has already starred in official photos before, and it was showcased in a sky blue colorway.
Now, Xiaomi is showing the phone off in "Sunshine Orange" color, and as the name somewhat gives away, this colorway looks very similar to the Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro. With a warm tone to it, this colorway should make the Redmi Turbo 5 Max stand out from the other sub-flagship and upper mid-range phones.
While no new specs of the phone have been revealed with the latest teasers, Xiaomi previously confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will be powered by the Dimensity 9500s. This new MediaTek SoC is positioned in the sub-flagship class, with a 9,000mAh battery and 100W fast charging support, aiming to offer flagship-class performance.
There are no exact pricing details yet, but Lu Weibing, the President of the company, shares that the Redmi Turbo 5 series will compete in the CNY 2,500, around $360, price segment. It will be interesting to see how the Turbo 5 Max competes against the likes of the OnePlus 15R (pre-order on Amazon and get $100 free gift card), Realme Neo8, and iQOO Z11 Turbo.
