The Redmi Turbo 5 series finally has an official launch date. This new mid-range phone lineup will be fully unveiled in China on January 29, 2026, and with this announcement, Xiaomi has also showcased the non-Max, vanilla model of the series, and it doesn't look much different than the Max.
As the official photos show, the non-Max Redmi Turbo 5 retains the dual-camera setup on the back, with the camera modules having the same placement as the Max model. However, instead of a dual flash setup, the standard phone comes with a single flash on the back. It's unclear whether the camera sensors will be the same as those of the upper-end model.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Turbo 5 will be powered by the Dimensity 8500, which was unveiled alongside the 9500s. Per the recent benchmark listings, it doesn't seem that the Dimensity 8500 will be a major step up from the 8400, but post-launch benchmark runs could tell a different story.
Other than that, the official renders of the Turbo 5 show that it will feature a metal mid-frame and a display with large, rounded corners, which will make the phone comfortable to hold. It will be smaller than the Max, possibly with a 6.59-inch screen.
Exact details are yet to emerge, but it's worth noting that the Turbo 4 launched with a starting price tag of CNY 1,999, around $286 (12/256 Gb 4 Pro curr. $300.27 on TradingShenzhen). More official details could emerge before the imminent Chinese debut.
