The flagship Oppo Find X9 series currently consists of the standard Find X9 and the Find X9 Pro. The series is expected to introduce the Find X9 Ultra as well as a compact model later this year.
Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has now revealed key details of Oppo's compact flagship phone. Although the tipster does not name the device, it is expected to be called the Oppo Find X9s, succeeding last year's Find X8s.
According to the tipster, the smartphone will feature a 6.3-inch display with narrow bezels. The phone is expected to use the Dimensity 9500 chipset, which also powers the Oppo Find X9 Pro. Additionally, the Find X9s is expected to feature a 7,000mAh battery with wireless charging support.
One of the key highlights of the Find X9s is expected to be its camera system. The tipster suggests a triple Hasselblad-tuned rear camera setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. Additionally, the setup is expected to include a multispectral sensor for improved color accuracy.
Notably, both the primary and periscope telephoto lenses are said to use large sensors. The periscope telephoto could use the Samsung HP5 sensor with macro capability, similar to the Oppo Find X9 Pro. This dual 200MP camera setup would be a standout feature among compact flagships. For comparison, the Find X8s featured a triple 50MP camera setup. Meanwhile, the Vivo X300, another compact camera flagship, features a 200MP primary, 50MP periscope telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
Other notable leaked highlights of the Find X9s include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and water resistance. The tipster also notes that the prototype's camera layout is similar to the Pro model, though the final design may differ. As for its market positioning, the tipster suggests it will sit above the standard Oppo Find X9.
