Citizen Japan has announced the Attesa "Shades of Red" limited series for February 2026. The release includes the BY1005-73Z (¥198,000) and the CC4077-71Z (¥385,000), featuring Super Titanium hardware and lunar-eclipse-inspired dials.

Citizen Japan has announced two new limited-run watches in the Attesa "ACT Line" with the "Shades of Red" collection. This collection is scheduled for release on February 26, 2026, and consists of two references, the BY1005-73Z and the CC4077-71Z. They commemorate an upcoming total lunar eclipse , which can be viewed throughout Japan at 8:04 PM on March 3.

Both these watches are constructed from Super Titanium with a Duratect DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) surface treatment. These models have dials that are very moon-inspired, specifically a total lunar eclipse. Both models are radio-controlled and have GPS-synced movements.

The BY1005-73Z operates on the H874 caliber. It's a radio-sync Eco-Drive movement featuring a 15-second per month accuracy rating without signal reception. The primary mechanical function is the "Luna Program," which automatically calculates and displays the moon phase based on received radio signals. The dial takes a multi-layered approach: a pearlescent-printed base (depicting a night sky) is topped with a 3D inkjet-printed layer to try and replicate lunar surface texture. At 10.8 mm thick, this model is still more compact than the GPS-equipped variant. It also retains its standard 10 bar water resistance and a "Metal Allergy Resistant" rating.

The CC4077-71Z is the flagship here. It comes with the F950 GPS-sync Eco-Drive caliber. This movement provides a 1/20-second chronograph and faster satellite signal acquisition, though you do end up with a case that is 15.4 mm thick. The dial construction is even more complex with this model, featuring a wine-red moon pattern layered over a white mother-of-pearl base. A gorgeous design feature here is the sapphire bezel ring, which uses dual-layer vapor deposition to render dark red tones and silver city names. While the 44.6 mm diameter has a large visual footprint, the use of Super Titanium keeps the total mass down to 111 g, which is a necessary weight-saving measure.

The Citizen CC4077-71Z is priced at ¥385,000 (~$2,461), and the BY1005-73Z is listed for ¥198,000 (~$1,266) on Citizen Japan. Alternatively, you can check out the Citizen NJ0150-56E on Amazon.
