After making a debut in Hong Kong, Citizen's new Tsuyosa "Shore" automatic watches are now finally making their way to global markets. The NJ0230-59L and NJ0232-53X are now available in the US, Europe, and Canada for $495 / €329 / CA $695 and $550 / €359 / CA $750, respectively.

Last week saw Citizen releasing quite a few intriguing watches to its highly popular Tsuyosa lineup. The limited edition Tsuyosa x seconde/seconde was arguably the most talked-about release, stealing the show with its quirky pixel-art katana minute hand and a beautiful sunburst blue dial. Citizen Hong Kong shortly followed up with the launch of four striking Tsuyosa "Shore" watches, complete with colorful sunray dials and a matching 120-click unidirectional bezel. While the exact availability and international pricing weren’t known at the time, two of the Tsuyosa Shore watches, NJ0230-59L and NJ0232-53X, have now made their way to the US, Canada, and Europe.

These new sport-luxury watches introduce a beach-inspired aesthetic, "incorporating the dynamic feeling of the seaside into its design, for a powerful, sporty look." The NJ0230-59L sports a classic silver-tone case and bracelet paired with a deep blue sunray dial and a matching 120-click unidirectional bezel, while the NJ0232-53X boasts a much more eye-catching palette, featuring a rich green sunray dial and a dual-tone yellow-gold case and bracelet. They measure 40mm across and feature a seamless stainless steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp.

Both watches offer excellent legibility, with a wide handset, generous luminous accents, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal featuring a magnified 3 o’clock date window. They are also well-suited for swimming and recreational water activities thanks to 100 meters of water resistance, and have a see-through case back that lets you enjoy the intricate mechanical movements and rotating weights unique to mechanical watches.

Citizen’s automatic Caliber 8210 movement powers the Tsuyosa Shore lineup. It's a reliable mechanical workhorse with a 42-hour power reserve and hacking seconds for precise time setting, and like other automatic movements, it winds via wrist motion and requires no battery.

The Citizen Tsuyosa Shore NJ0230-59L is priced at $495 / CA $695 / €329, while the gold-tone NJ0232-53X comes in slightly higher at $550 / CA $750 / €359. Both watches are now available through Citizen’s official stores and authorized retailers across the US, Canada, and Europe.

It's not clear if or when the company will bring the two other Shore models, NJ0234-58X with a red dial and green-blue NJ0231-56L, to the US and North America, though both are already available in Europe.
