Citizen launches new slim automatic watches with sapphire glass, including a forged carbon limited-edition model

Citizen is on a spree right now, expanding the Series 8 lineup with the release of the NB6080-51W, NB6085-57W, and a limited-edition reference, the NB6086-54E. These models are smaller in size as compared to previous 42 mm variants, thanks to a move to a 39.3 mm diameter so as to meet current market trends. The case is constructed from five distinct stainless steel components, all of which are polished to achieve a multi-angled finish. A key technical spec is the 10.4 mm thickness - this is achieved while maintaining a 20-bar (200-meter) water resistance rating.
The internal mechanics are centered on the Caliber 9051, a 4 Hz automatic movement. It is designed with magnetic resistance of 16,000 A/m, which lets it maintain accuracy when in close proximity to everyday electronic devices like smartphones. The movement has a 42-hour power reserve and a factory-rated accuracy of -10 to +20 seconds per day. The dials feature a new pattern that combines a grid with a stylized interpretation of the Tokyo skyline. On the other hand, the limited-edition NB6086-54E has a forged carbon dial and a grey and yellow-gold plated case.
The watches are scheduled for a March 2026 launch. Standard production models are priced between $1,300 and $1,450 USD, while the forged carbon version is limited to 1,200 pieces worldwide with a projected price of $1,600 USD. Each watch comes equipped with a sapphire crystal featuring an anti-reflective coating and a transparent case back to view the movement.
