New Citizen watches with compact movement now available in the US

Citizen has released three new Fio Roma watches in the US. Launched in February 2026 in Japan, these vintage-inspired timepieces are described as “dainty” and “jewelery-like” by the brand.
The Citizen Fio Roma range includes three models: the EG2790-12A, the EG2797-13A and the EG2799-18W. Each is equipped with the company’s smallest Eco‑Drive movement, the caliber G620, which can be powered by any light source. These models have two analog hands on a minimalist sunray dial with Roman numeral indices. It is protected by a mineral crystal and is said to be water resistant to 30 m.
Citizen’s Fio Roma timepieces have a rectangular stainless steel casing with rounded edges, measuring 17.3 x 24.5 mm (~0.68 x 0.96 inches). On the right is a slightly oversized crown set with a black cabochon, and the watch is accompanied by an embossed leather band. The EG2790-12A has a silver dial and casing with a black strap, and the EG2797-13A has a silver dial, yellow gold tone casing and a dark brown strap. The EG2799-18W has a silver dial, a rose gold colored case and a gray strap.
At the Citizen online store in the US, you can now buy the Fio Roma watches for $275 each. Whether or when these watches could be officially released in Europe remains to be seen.
