Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer now official, reveals two surprise Marvel characters, confirms July release

After months of 144p leaks, we finally have a high-definition look at Peter Parker's next chapter. Sony and Marvel Studios just released the official trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day (on March 18, 2026) - it confirms a mid-summer arrival in theaters. The footage shows a huge shift toward a more visceral, rough conflict rather than the slightly more teenage themes seen in previous installments like Homecoming.

As per the trailer, Peter Parker is still isolated following the spell that erased the world's memory of his identity. His former friends MJ and Ned have no recollection of their history; MJ is portrayed as an acquaintance across the hall, more or less. The primary threat looks to be more internal this time around, as Peter’s DNA begins mutating during a "rebirth" phase of the spider life cycle. He eventually goes for scientific assistance from Dr. Banner (played by Mark Ruffalo) as his powers become increasingly unstable.
This trailer looks to be way grittier, setting a whole new tone for the franchise that should succeed the late-stage events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Aunt May was murdered by Green Goblin. Also, Frank Castle/Punisher is seen hunting Peter, at one point hitting him with a van and telling him he is "losing it". Between the mutation and the presence of The Punisher, the film appears to be focused on Peter's physical limits and the emotional toll of his loneliness. We see 'The Hand' on screen as well - an ancient ninja organization heavily involved in global organized crime in the Marvel universe.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31, 2026. Considering the past three movies were extremely successful, this fourth installment should yield more or less similar results.
