Citizen launches 4 new Super Titanium watches, including a "Panda" chronograph

Chronographs often feel pretty bulky, but using titanium helps mitigate the heft that usually comes with a multi-subdial layout. Citizen just announced their new AT2590 series in Europe, and it uses a classic tri-compax arrangement (calendar, chronograph, and moonphase) to deliver a functional sports watch that shouldn't feel like a lead weight. The 40 mm Super Titanium case measures 10.29 mm thick, so the proportions should be compact enough for various wrist sizes.
The visual hook here is the "panda" styling on the white-dial variant, though the blue and green models get you a more contemporary look. Each version features black sub-dials that serve a dual purpose: they provide high legibility for the 60-minute stopwatch and 24-hour display while acting as the windows for the solar cells. Power comes from the H504 Eco-Drive caliber, which brings a 180-day power reserve and keeps an accuracy of +/- 15 seconds per month.
Durability-wise, the AT2590 series models come equipped with Super Titanium construction and a screw-down case back, though the water resistance is capped at 5 bar. This limits the watch to surface-level tasks rather than swimming. The crystal glass protects a dial finished with stroke indices and a date window at 4 o'clock. At 84 g, the AT2590 should be a more comfortable alternative to heavier steel chronographs by Seiko and other brands currently on the market.
