Grand Seiko reveals new compact diver’s watch with high accuracy

The Grand Seiko Spring Drive U.F.A Ushio 300 Diver watch has been unveiled. Arriving as the brand’s most compact diver’s watch, the hotly anticipated Evolution 9 series timepiece is on show at the Watches and Wonders 2026 event.
Grand Seiko is releasing two versions of the Ushio 300, the SLGB023 (blue dial) and the SLGB025 (green dial). The name ‘ushio’ comes from the Japanese word for tide, reflecting the wave-like pattern on the watch face. This is surrounded by a silver colored titanium case, with a matching bracelet in the same material. As noted in the teaser video, this three-hand watch lacks a date display. However, there is a power reserve indicator between the 7 o’clock and 8 o’clock positions.
The Ushio 300 users Grand Seiko’s new Spring Drive U.F.A. Caliber 9RB1, building on the 2025 9RB2. The company advertises the movement as its “most accurate” Spring Drive variant, with an annual rate of 20 seconds or a monthly rate of three seconds. Other features include a self-winding mechanism, with manual-winding, 33 jewels and an estimated power reserve of 72 hours. It is also worth noting that the Usio 300 is the smallest Grand Seiko diver’s watch, featuring a 40.8 mm (~1.61 inches) wide case.
In the US, the Grand Seiko Spring Drive U.F.A Ushio 300 Diver SLGB023 and SLGB025 watches will be released in June 2026 with a $12,400 RRP. In EU countries, these two models will retail for €12,500 and are set for release in the same month.
