Grand Seiko launches new limited edition Spring Drive watch with gold casing

Grand Seiko has officially announced the Evolution 9 Spring Drive U.F.A. SLGB006 watch. On show at Watches and Wonders 2026, this new limited edition timepiece is said to be inspired by an “Ice Forest at Dawn”.
The Grand Seiko SLGB006 has an 18k yellow gold casing, with matching hands and indexes on the black dial. The dial has a textured finish with gold-tone specks that catch the light, mimicking the way early morning sunlight reflects off ice crystals to create a sun pillar. The face is protected by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an antireflective coating applied to the inner surface. The timepiece comes with a black crocodile leather strap, secured using a three-fold clasp with push button release.
Grand Seiko’s Ice Forest at Dawn SLGB006 watch is powered by a Spring Drive U.F.A. Caliber 9RB2, which is said to remain accurate to within 20 seconds each month. The dial features three analog hands and a basic date display. Plus, there is a power reserve indicator at the rear; the movement’s power reserve is estimated at 72 hours. This model also offers 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance and 10 bar (100 m) water resistance.
Set for release in June 2026, the Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Spring Drive U.F.A. SLGB006 watch will be available at the brand’s online store for $43,600 in the US, and €44,700 in EU countries. It is worth noting that only 80 pieces of this limited edition watch will be made, with a serial number engraved on the case back.
