The HAB004 celebrates Seiko’s 145th anniversary and is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide.
Seiko’s limited-edition Astron GPS Solar HAB004 marks the brand’s 145th anniversary. It offers a titanium 43.4mm case, light silver geometric dial, the new Caliber 5X63 GPS solar movement, as well as practical upgrades such as dual-time GPS syncing and Quick-Change band system.

Alongside the trio of new Astron GPS solar watches announced recently, Seiko was apparently holding one more variant up its sleeve. Meet the HAB004: a limited-edition model launching as part of the second series of watches commemorating Seiko’s 145th anniversary.

The Seiko Astron GPS solar HAB004 shares the exact same skeleton as the standard HAB001, HAB002, and HAB003 models. You’re getting a 43.4mm titanium case treated with a super-hard coating, topped with a new two-piece octagonal bezel that keeps the watch's center of gravity low for improved wearability. The color scheme is where we see a big departure from the rest of the lineup.

Astron HAB004 pairs a silver dial with striking “Seiko Blue” accents

The beautiful light silver dial features a geometric pattern of interlocking triangles, nicely contrasted by striking blue accents inspired by the company’s signature Seiko Blue color. The rich blue tones are used on the subdials, chapter rings, and the seconds track.

The HAB004 ships with both a titanium bracelet and an exclusive blue-and-white silicone strap.

The HAB004 is powered by Seiko’s new in-house Cliber 5X63, which the company says is the most powerful solar GPS movement it has to offer. It's a serious piece of hardware that combines dual-time tracking with a perpetual calendar programmed through the year 2100 and the ability to receive GPS signals from four or more GPS satellites to pinpoint your location and automatically sync the watch to your local time whenever you land. It also boasts up to 6 months of battery life on a full solar charge, 10 bar water resistance, and an anti-magnetic rating of 4,800 A/m.

The new quick-change system lets you swap straps with a single push of a button.

Like its siblings, the HAB004 also adopts Seiko’s new Quick-Change band system, which lets you detach the titanium bracelet with a simple push of a button. This will come in handy when you want to change things up and swap in the exclusive blue-and-white silicone strap that comes in the box for a sportier look.
