New Seiko 5 Sports limited-edition collab watches launched with striking designs

Seiko's latest team-up with San Francisco skate institution FTC has given us a new pair of limited-edition 5 Sports watches, set to release in July 2026. The collaboration celebrates FTC's 40th anniversary — the brand traces its roots back to 1986, when founder Kent Uyehara started selling skate gear from the back of his father's ski and sports shop on Bush Street. FTC, which stands for "For The City," has since grown into one of the most respected names in skateboarding.
The two watches are both built on the SKX-series platform within the 5 Sports lineup. The HDB011J8 goes with a black dial on a two-tone silver and gold-tone stainless steel case and bracelet, while the HDB012J8 features a burnt orange dial on an all-gold-tone case and bracelet. Both measure 42.5 mm in diameter with a 13.4 mm thickness and 46 mm lug-to-lug, and run on the 4R36 automatic calibre with manual winding, a 41-hour power reserve, and 24 jewels. Other specs include a Hardlex crystal, LumiBrite on the hands and indices, unidirectional rotating bezel, 10 bar water resistance, and a see-through screw case back engraved with the FTC branding.
Production numbers are pretty tight — the HDB011J8 is limited to 860 pieces globally (310 for Japan), while the HDB012J8 is limited to 663 pieces (113 for Japan). Both are available exclusively in Japan and the United States.
No pricing has been announced yet. More details are expected closer to the July launch. In the meantime, you can check out the Seiko 5 Sports SRPL79 on Amazon.
