A datamine suggests that Microsoft could debut new Game Pass plans with Xbox Cloud Gaming. Tiers called Triton and Duet have leaked, with the latter part of a rumored Netflix bundle. Both options would only allow a fixed number of hours per month for cloud streaming.

Rumors about revisions to Xbox Game Pass continue to swirl. In a leaked memo, new CEO Asha Sharma seemed to acknowledge the negative impact of price increases. When considering how to add value to the subscription service, a bundle with a streaming giant is one option. It may include Xbox Cloud Gaming, but with the same restrictions imposed by Nvidia GeForce Now.

A glimpse into the Game Pass future?

Better xCloud keeps tabs on the service’s backend, which occasionally can leak upcoming changes. Recently, redphx shared evidence of new tiers called Triton and Duet on social media. Triton will likely exclusively feature first-party Xbox games from series such as Halo and Doom. Meanwhile, Microsoft could incorporate a Netflix subscription in Duet.

In the latest datamine, there are signals that both potential tiers will offer Xbox Cloud Gaming. However, they may introduce monthly hourly caps to ease server loads. Currently, Ultimate and some less expensive levels stream a growing catalog without these conditions.

Addressing the last Xbox Game Pass price increase in October 2025, Duet could be a lower-cost alternative. It would involve a smaller selection of titles and cloud gaming with caveats. At the same time, it would provide savings to Netflix supporters. Even so, as with GeForce Now, some critics will oppose any time limits.

GeForce Now streaming is not unlimited

Nvidia announced 100-hour monthly caps for paid plans late in 2024. By January 2026, they took effect for all but the most longtime members. While disappointing, the solution has a loyal following because of its crisp visuals and lower latency.

On Game Pass Ultimate, streaming quality stands at an enhanced 1440p. That said, for $29.99 a month, it can’t match the 4K graphics and high frame rates supported by Nvidia’s most premium plan. Still, at least for now, the Xbox alternative also includes local day-one access to new releases and third-party selections.

Fortunately, Better xCloud doesn’t believe that any other Game Pass tiers would be affected by changes. Regardless, if Microsoft entices enough new subscribers and improves bitrates, widespread limits may be inevitable.
