8BitDo teases Gears of War-themed products made in collaboration with Xbox

In mid-August, 8BitDo announced a Gears of War-themed wireless charging dock for Xbox wireless controllers. While the dock won't be released until October, it appears it won't be the only 8BitDo product that is based on the upcoming video game.

8BitDo has shared a teaser for new Gears of War-themed products, and while it is keeping the products under wraps until the announcement, the silhouettes visible in the video already gave their identities away.

The 16-second long video opens with a view of a destroyed city, albeit with a diorama effect. It then switches to a view of the silhouettes of two objects. Most folks who are familiar with 8BitDo's product lineup should already know what the two products are; but for those who don't, the silhouettes are of a keyboard and mouse, specifically 8BitDo's Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard and Retro R8 Mouse.

Its obvious 8BitDo is launching Gears of War variants of the Retro 87 Mechanical keyboard Xbox Edition and the Retro R8 Mouse - Xbox Edition (available on Amazon for $59.99), since the teaser video shows 8BitDo has partnered with Xbox for the announcement.

While the mouse will probably just feature a color-scheme that is inspired by Gears of War: E-Day, the keyboard seems likely to be where 8BitDo will go all out. Based on recent products such as the Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard - Forest Wonder; we expect the Gears of War edition to feature custom Kailh switches and super buttons that are based on the game.

The new products will be announced on September 29 at 8 AM PT.
