Fans suspect that the artwork released alongside the announcement may already offer a clue as to what Rockstar will show during the Extended Look on Netflix.

On August 27 at 9 p.m. CEST, fans are set to get their most detailed look at GTA 6 yet on Netflix. What exactly Rockstar will show during the Extended Look remains a mystery, but that has not stopped fans from speculating. On Reddit, u/Ill_Bunch_2999 shared a theory that many fans consider quite plausible. The idea: The Extended Look could focus on the robbery already shown at the end of the first trailer. The main clue is the artwork Rockstar released alongside the Extended Look announcement, which shows Jason and Lucia armed and standing in front of a gas station.

When comparing the artwork with the robbery scene from Trailer 1, the Redditor noticed several similarities: Lucia is once again wearing denim shorts, while Jason has his face covered with a bandana in both images. The vehicle in the background is also notable: It is said to be not only the same model, but the exact same car with an identical license plate.

A full mission?

Many Reddit users believe it is possible that the developers could show the entire robbery sequence as actual gameplay – from driving to the location and threatening the employees to NPC reactions and the subsequent police chase. This could allow Rockstar to answer many of the fans’ open questions in one go, including how weapons work, how the wanted system functions and how Jason and Lucia interact during missions.

Others even suspect that the robbery could serve as GTA 6’s prologue. According to this theory, the mission could go wrong and explain why Lucia later ends up in prison. It is also conceivable that Jason escapes and players initially experience the beginning of the story with him alone. So far, however, there is no solid evidence to support these theories.

Not everyone is convinced

While many fans consider a gameplay showcase centered around the robbery mission plausible, others point out that the clues are not entirely conclusive. For example, the clothing does not match perfectly. Lucia is wearing a different top in the artwork, and a closer look reveals that her denim shorts also differ from those seen in Trailer 1.

The vehicle could simply be one of the protagonists’ personal cars, which would explain why it appears in different scenes without any deeper significance. Whether Rockstar really hid a clue about the content of the Extended Look for Grand Theft Auto VI (available for pre-order on Amazon) in the artwork will become clear by August 27 at the latest.
