Genshin Impact 7.0 hotfix fixes Snezhnaya lock

HoYoverse has shipped a hotfix for Genshin Impact following the August 12 launch of Version 7.0, "Everwinter Without Mercy," addressing a progression-blocking bug in the new Snezhnaya region's Archon Quest along with a visual glitch affecting some Android devices. The update landed on the weekend, after an unrelated text fix the day before.
Prime Ice fix ends Archon Quest soft-lock
During the Archon Quest objective "Use Prime Ice Constructs to prop up the door," some players found all the destructible Prime Ice in the area already gone before they'd met the puzzle's requirements. Because the resource didn't respawn within that quest instance, affected players were stuck with no way to continue. HoYoverse's fix adds an extra Prime Ice location that can be destroyed repeatedly, so usable resources are always available in the scene.
Android face bug resolved; PC flicker issue still open
The same update fixed a bug on some Android devices where abnormal patterns appeared on the faces of Sandrone and Mitya during dialogue in the Archon Quests "Everwinter Without Mercy" and "Wraith's Nocturne." Players who hit either bug are advised to log out to the login screen and back in to apply the fix.
One issue remains unresolved. HoYoverse says PC devices with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics can suffer abnormal screen flickering on entering Snezhnaya. Rather than patching it out, the studio is pointing affected players to Intel's site for the latest graphics driver as a workaround, with no fix date beyond "a future update." A separate cosmetic bug showing the wrong elemental icon for Mitya in a "Wraith's Nocturne" cutscene is also still pending a fix.
Construct density and notification spam reduced
Alongside the quest and display fixes, HoYoverse normalized the spawn density of Prime Ice Constructs in Snezhnaya's exploration zones, where the objects had been appearing at abnormally high density, and reduced how often the accompanying icon and text signs pop up on screen.
