Transformers: Eternal War sets September 15 mobile launch date

Transformers: Eternal War launches globally on September 15, 2026, with publisher Wanda Cinemas Games and Hasbro confirmed, with the tactical squad RPG arriving on iOS and Android as a free-to-play title. Written by longtime Transformers comic author Simon Furman, the game introduces an original story in which Autobots and Decepticons set aside their war to face a shared threat known as the Chaos Legion. The launch follows a regional soft launch earlier in 2026 across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Simon Furman's story and the Chaos Legion threat

Rather than centering on the long-running conflict between Autobots and Decepticons, Transformers: Eternal War pits both factions against a corrupting force powered by unstable chaos energy that threatens Earth and Cybertron alike. Furman, a British comic writer credited with helping define the Transformers universe through decades of work at Marvel UK and beyond, wrote the game's original narrative. The release also coincides with the Transformers franchise's 40th anniversary.

Squad classes, traits, and Ark management

Transformers: Eternal War features detailed 3D character models, cinematic battle sequences, and a roster spanning multiple eras of the franchise.

Combat plays out in 5v5 formations. Players choose their lineup and positioning before a fight, then the battle runs on its own. Every Transformer falls into one of five classes: Vanguard, Assault, Firepower, Recon, or Support. Vanguards hold the front line, firepower units hit from range, and support bots keep the squad standing. Each character also carries a trait, such as Fearless, Dynamic, Resourceful, Resolute, or Inspiring, and matching the right traits to the right classes triggers synergy bonuses that shift the outcome of a fight. Away from combat, players expand support facilities around their base, known as the Ark, generating resources and leveling up their roster even while offline.

Release and pre-registration rewards

Transformers: Eternal War will be free to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store when it launches on September 15, 2026. Pre-registration is open now, and players who sign up ahead of launch will receive 1,000 free summons, unlock the characters Jazz and Bumblebee, and get a Transformers 40th anniversary avatar frame and nameplate.
