DJI Romo 2 series brings upgraded suction power and AI capabilities

DJI is expanding its robot vacuum portfolio with two new models as part of the Romo 2 series. The Romo A2 and Romo P2 build on their predecessors with improvements in key areas. Both models are now smarter and more efficient with AI-powered cleaning solutions for different scenarios.

DJI Romo A2 and P2 robot vacuum features

Both the Romo A2 and P2 are identical in terms of features, with the only difference seemingly being that the A2 comes in white and the P2 has a transparent design. They boast 36,000 Pa suction power, a decent upgrade over the 25,000 Pa of their predecessors. They use a high-precision LiDAR sensor with a 123-degree swivel range to reach 7.8 cm further and 4.5 cm deeper under furniture.

There are robotic legs underneath that allow the Romo A2 and P2 to overcome obstacles up to 8.5 cm high. Of course, there is a self-cleaning base station as well, but it allows for up to 365 days of maintenance-free operation, which is an upgrade over the 200-day claim of the Romo P and Romo A. They also retain the millimeter-precise obstacle detection that works in conjunction with AI to learn from previous uses.

DJI says the robot vacuum operates at a noise level of 38 dB during quiet mopping. With 55W fast charging, the Romo 2 robots can fully charge in 2.5 hours.

For security purposes, DJI has added a local data mode that can disconnect the DJI Home app from the internet to prevent photos or videos from being unintentionally synchronized with external servers. Notably, this mode will be available by the end of 2026. Furthermore, the camera and microphone can be deactivated at any time via the app, and all the shared personal data can be deleted at any time.

DJI Romo A2 and P2 robot vacuum price and availability

The DJI Romo P2 (water tank version) is priced at EUR 1,299 (around $1,505) while the Romo A2 (water tank version) is priced at EUR 1,199 (around $1,390). DJI has not shared an exact sale date but said that they will be available globally in September via the website and Amazon. To celebrate the global launch, there are also early bird discounts for the German market valid from September 9 to September 30. During this time, the P2 will be available for EUR 1,059 (around $1,227) and the A2 will be available for EUR 1,049 (around $1,215).
