Xiaomi unveils Mijia Robot Vacuum 7C featuring continuous-wipe roller mop

Xiaomi continues to expand its extensive smart home portfolio with the launch of the Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum 7C on its YouPin crowdfunding platform in China. Retail pricing starts at the equivalent of approximately $340 (€293). Details regarding an international rollout have not yet been announced, though many of Xiaomi's floor-care devices eventually reach global markets.
Rather than fundamentally redesigning the robot vacuum, Xiaomi is positioning the Mijia 7C as a refined iterative update. Its standout feature is an upgraded wet-cleaning system: instead of dual rotating mop pads, the unit utilizes a single roller mop spinning at 200 RPM. A continuous freshwater supply rinses the roller during operation while dirty water is actively extracted, preventing the robot from simply dragging dissolved grime across the floor. While not entirely new—similar implementations have already proven effective in devices like the Mova S70 Roller (on Amazon)—the technology remains a welcome upgrade. For edge-to-edge cleaning, the movable roller can extend outward toward baseboards, and a 10 mm automatic lift mechanism keeps low-pile carpets dry during vacuuming runs.
On the suction front, Xiaomi claims an impressive 30,000 Pa of pressure. The main brush module incorporates an integrated cutting mechanism to shred human and pet hair, reducing manual maintenance and roller tangles. Navigation relies on a combined LiDAR and AI camera setup capable of recognizing over 220 distinct obstacle types—such as stray shoes or bathroom scales—allowing the device to dynamically route around hazards in real time.
