Pixel Gun 2 global mobile release date set for September

Cubic Games, the GDEV portfolio studio behind Pixel Gun 3D, has confirmed that its sequel, Pixel Gun 2, will launch on iOS and Android on September 7, 2026. The announcement followed a global pre-registration phase that opened in March 2026 on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The sequel extends a franchise that has surpassed 300 million downloads and $230 million in bookings since Pixel Gun 3D debuted in 2013. 

Cubic Games, founded in 2012, specializes in pixel-art mobile shooters, and its parent company GDEV also owns studios such as Nexters, with combined franchises topping 550 million installs and $2.5 billion in bookings. Pixel Gun 2 reworks arena combat with destructible environments, deeper loadout customization, and upgraded anti-cheat systems, while a PC version via Steam remains in development with no confirmed release date.

Real-time map destruction and modular loadouts

Pixel Gun 2 centers on fast, five-versus-five PvP matches in arenas that break apart as fights unfold. Gunfire and explosives can tear through walls and cover, opening new flanking routes or exposing dug-in opponents, and forcing both squads to adapt as the surrounding structures collapse.

The loadout system lets players combine weapons, gadgets, armor, perks, and character classes to build their preferred playstyle. A perk-stacking mechanic also lets players adjust their build mid-match, shifting between aggressive melee attackers, headshot specialists, or mobile gadget users as a round develops.

Cross-platform progression and launch availability

Cubic Games has designed Pixel Gun 2 around a single account that can carry player progress, unlocked weapons, and cosmetics between platforms. While the September 7 rollout covers mobile only, the developer has said cross-progression with the PC version, currently open for wishlisting on Steam, will let players continue where they left off once that release arrives. Console versions are expected to follow at a later date, according to the developer.

Pixel Gun 3D will keep receiving server support and content updates alongside the new title, letting longtime players maintain their existing profiles rather than starting over.

Pre-registration remains open on the App Store and Google Play ahead of the September 7 launch, with early sign-ups set to receive milestone rewards. Cubic Games has also said further updates, including new game modes and additional destructible maps, are planned for after release.
