Three monkeys, one ticking bomb and nearly impossible communication: BOMBANANA! is emerging as a new co-op hit on Steam with 96% positive reviews.

BOMBANANA! is a new co-op game on Steam in which three players form what is probably the world's least suitable bomb disposal squad – consisting of a blind, a deaf and a mute monkey. The blind monkey can operate the bomb but cannot see colors or displays. The mute monkey is the only one with the right manual, but cannot say what it contains. The deaf monkey, meanwhile, can see the bomb and his wildly gesticulating teammates, but cannot hear a word.

To avoid getting blown up together, the trio somehow has to exchange information – through shouting, gestures, emotes or thrown bananas. If the discussion reaches a complete dead end, the monkeys can even slap each other. Different puzzle modules as well as power outages, limited visibility and other disruptions ensure that the already questionable communication regularly descends into chaos. Bombs are defused in locations including a minivan converted into a mobile response vehicle and aboard an airplane. Released on September 2, the title from developer Lefto Studio and publisher TARK features a campaign with 30 handcrafted levels, an increasingly difficult endless mode and fully customizable challenges.

So far, BOMBANANA! has been very well received on Steam. More than 1,300 reviews have already been posted since release – and 96% of them are positive. According to players, the game is a lot of fun and works surprisingly well even with strangers. However, players would like to see more content. According to the reviews, many have already completed the 30 levels within four to five hours. Given that the game is relatively inexpensive at its regular price of $7.99 and also offers an endless mode after completing the campaign, however, that may be easy to overlook. Until September 9, there is also a substantial 38% launch discount, bringing the price down to $4.95.
