Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed comes to iOS and Android with touch controls

THQ Nordic Mobile and developer Snapshot Games have confirmed that Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will launch on iOS and Android on September 16, 2026. Originally reimagined by Purple Lamp for console and PC, the 3D platformer remake now comes to mobile as a premium, single-purchase release priced at $15.99. The remake itself revisits the original 2010 Wii game, first conceived by Warren Spector and developed by Junction Point Studios.

Touch controls and the movement kit

The console and PC remake originally launched in September 2024 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, more than a year before this mobile port. Snapshot Games has built touch-optimized controls around the game's core paint-and-thinner mechanic. Players tap and drag across the screen to spray paint and restore objects and terrain or apply thinner to dissolve obstacles, uncover hidden paths, and defeat Ink Blots, enemies. The mobile version also supports external controllers for players who prefer physical inputs over touchscreen gestures.

The port carries over the expanded movement set introduced in the console remake, giving Mickey ground pounds, dashes, and sprints for navigating the game's platforming sections. It's a complete single-player experience, with no microtransactions built into the mobile version.

Story, Wasteland, and pre-registration

The story is set in Wasteland, a realm the sorcerer Yen Sid created as a home for forgotten Disney characters. Mickey travels through it, trying to undo a magical disaster, and crosses paths with figures including Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Horace Horsecollar, and Clarabelle Cow. Choices between creation and destruction shape character relationships and steer the story toward different endings. Oswald, Disney's original star character before Mickey Mouse, plays a central role in Wasteland's story as the land's onetime ruler.

Pre-orders are live now on the Apple App Store, and pre-registration is open on Google Play. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed launches globally on September 16, following a Nintendo Switch 2 version due out October 6. The mobile release follows THQ Nordic Mobile's earlier console-to-mobile ports, including Wreckfest and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, and marks the publisher's first outing under its new name since the August 2026 rebrand from HandyGames.
