Bandai Namco launches Code Vein II Mask of Idris expansion & patch

Bandai Namco has released the Code Vein II Mask of Idris story expansion for Code Vein II on September 9, 2026, alongside the free Ver. 2.0 update, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. The DLC is included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions or can be purchased separately, and it adds a history-altering storyline, separate from the main campaign, along with new allies, weapons, and challenge content.

The Forsaken World and new partners

Set in the Forsaken World, a fractured realm formed from the converged remnants of erased timelines, the expansion sees players working to stabilize the Spindle of Pathos before it threatens reality itself. Two new companions join the story: Liv Voda, a former guardian of the Temporal Rift and half-sister of series character Valentin Voda, who fights with an aggressive halberd-focused combat style, and an alternate-timeline version of Lou MagMell. Progressing through the DLC unlocks new weapons and Formae, including the flame-imbued Sword of Karma greatsword and the Grave Knocker, an aerial martial arts move that triggers shockwaves to stagger groups of enemies.

To access the Code Vein II Mask of Idris, players must first reach the Luna Fraterna main story ending and complete the Valentin's request sub-mission. Clearing the expansion unlocks alternate outfit colors for all 14 partner characters.

Ver. 2.0 adds Jadwiga, boss trials, and a legacy shader

The free Ver. 2.0 update launched alongside the DLC and introduces The Age of Harmony, an epilogue that expands the post-game world with new episodes for each partner. It also adds Trials of Remembrance, a boss rush mode that rewards players with materials for more than 90 new character customization parts.

The witch Jadwiga also joins the roster as a fully summonable partner, fighting with a two-handed great sword alongside fast-casting Formae. Previously available only as a summon through Assimilation, she can now join players as a full partner after completing her episode in The Age of Harmony. Other additions in Ver. 2.0 include a story-focused mode that strengthens the player character for an easier experience, a returning Jukebox stocked with tracks from Code Vein, Code Vein II, and the God Eater series, and a legacy character shader that recreates the anime-inspired visual style of the original Code Vein. Photo Mode has also been expanded with more than 30 new poses and over 20 frames.
