Wildmagic Frontier reveals trailer ahead of Sep 10 Kickstarter

A new trailer for Wildmagic Frontier has arrived, giving players their first proper look at Astara. Long dormant, the world has been jolted back to life by a surge of unstable wild magic, setting the stage for a game built around tactics, deck-building, and party management. Players recruit companions, craft cards, and pull together decks around combos that fit their own style, then take that party into fast-paced battles across the Frontier. The game supports solo play or co-op with up to two friends.

The game also ties into Hero Forge, letting players import their own custom characters, giving them a wide range of options to customize and personalize their party as they journey through Astara's magical world. A team of artists has worked to create a mixture of physical and digital dioramas, an effort aimed at bringing the feel of a real-world tabletop experience to a video game audience, blending sculpted sets with digital environments.

Recruit companions and build a party

Players can complete quests and forge friendships with a colorful cast of recruitable companions, each bringing their own personality and combat style to the Frontier. Progressing through the game also expands the player's settlement, unlocking new heroes to add to the growing roster over time and giving parties more options as the adventure continues.

Import miniatures and explore handcrafted environments

Players can bring in owned Hero Forge 3D digital miniatures or choose from premade character archetypes before heading into a living tactical adventure. Environments combine physical and digital sculpting to recreate the look and feel of an elaborate tabletop setup, with skirmishes playing out on tactical grids designed to echo a real tabletop session.

Deck-building and co-op play

Players craft cards and curate decks around synergies and combinations, with room to build toward different playstyles depending on the companions recruited along the way. Wildmagic Frontier can be played solo or with up to two friends in cooperative play directly in the browser, with no extra downloads.

The Kickstarter campaign for Wildmagic Frontier launches on September 10. Players can follow the project now to be notified when the campaign begins.
