It sounds absurd, but the protagonist of Super Adventure Hand really is a hand – just a hand, without the rest of the body. The 3D platformer is 81% off on Steam until September 10 and is available at a new all-time low of $2.46.

In Super Adventure Hand, players take control of a severed hand whose best friend – the arm – has been kidnapped by a gang of hostile feet, of all things. To find him and uncover what's behind the kidnapping, the hand has to make its way through more than 50 handcrafted 3D levels. The 3D platformer from Devm Games is 81% off on Steam until September 10, bringing the price down from $12.99 to $2.46. According to SteamDB, this marks a new all-time low, with previous discounts topping out at 75%.

The unusual concept carries over consistently into the gameplay. Instead of simply walking through the levels, the hand crawls, climbs and swings its way through the environment on its five fingers. Players have to control momentum and positioning, grab objects and solve small physics-based puzzles along the way. Saw blades, fire and other traps do not exactly make the journey to the magical cup at the end of each level any easier. And as if a crawling hand were not strange enough already, it can even drive a car or ride a skateboard from time to time.

Gaming website GameGrin awarded the game a strong 9 out of 10 in its review, highlighting the fun platforming, varied handcrafted levels and deliberately somewhat clumsy physics, which regularly lead to humorous situations, as the game's greatest strengths. Criticism, on the other hand, was directed at the occasionally awkward controls and limited progression: The core mechanics change very little over the course of the game.

The verdict from the Steam community is even more positive: 97% of more than 100 user reviews are positive. Anyone who enjoys platformers and appreciates a bit of absurdity therefore probably can't go too far wrong at the current low price. And thanks to its Steam Deck Verified status, the hand can easily make its way through the levels on the go as well.
