Released on April 23, 2020, Iratus: Lord of the Dead is an RPG that blends roguelike and tactical mechanics. Unlike other games of this type, you’re not on the side of the heroes. Instead, you’ll be fighting for the forces of darkness. 

In this dark fantasy world, you must help the necromancer Iratus reach the surface world and seek revenge. To complete this mission, you'll need to expand and upgrade your underground lair. 

Under your command, you'll find 19 different types of minions, such as mummies, banshees, and vampires. Each minion has six abilities, and four talent trees are available: Alchemy, Ire, Destruction, and Magic. 

As for your opponents, you’ll need to learn their strengths and weaknesses. Depending on the type of enemy, you can use violence, magic, or drain their sanity during turn-based battles. However, this game features roguelike mechanics, and every minion that falls in battle is lost forever. Therefore, to replenish your army, you’ll need to use the body parts of defeated enemies. 

More than 8,250 players have left reviews on Steam, some pointing out similarities to Darkest Dungeon. Players appreciate the combat and the visuals. However, the gameplay seems to get repetitive, even with the different difficulty levels. In addition, some players have reported bugs that can cause the game to crash. Despite this, 85% of its reviews are positive, and it has a Metascore of 78 and a user score of 7.4 on Metacritic. 

Iratus: Lord of the Dead is currently 90% off on Steam, available for $2.99 instead of $29.99 until September 12, 2026, according to SteamDB. On another note, some DLCs are also on sale.
