Developed by Door 407, Diplomacy is Not an Option is a strategy game in which you must fend off attacks while developing and protecting your resources. To do so, you’ll need to build your defenses and use the various weapons at your disposal.

Diplomacy is Not an Option is a strategy game set in a medieval fantasy world. As its name suggests, diplomacy won't be useful in this game, since your main task will be to fend off hordes of enemies rushing toward your castle.

Your king has plunged the kingdom into crisis, and a rebellion is underway. In total, more than 25,000 soldiers will attack you across procedurally generated maps. To stop them, you’ll need to deploy your troops strategically and build fortifications while managing every aspect of your castle. Magic can also come in handy.

However, you will need to meet the needs of your soldiers and peasants. That is why you must keep an eye on your supplies of wood, stone, gold, iron, and food. Develop your economy, grow your crops, and place your buildings in strategic locations to protect your resources. To prevent the spread of disease, you must also bury fallen soldiers and treat the infected.

If you want to vary your gameplay, several game modes are available. Indeed, alongside the campaign, you can play in Endless Mode, Sandbox Mode, or Challenge Mode.

Currently available for $11.99 instead of $29.99, Diplomacy is Not an Option has been well received by players on Steam. With 85% positive reviews out of 12,562 ratings, players love the world, graphics, and variety of gameplay options. Some players also praised the campaign for its length.

However, the game isn't easy to master, and bugs have also been reported. In addition, the difficulty has been criticized as unbalanced. Finally, it's worth noting that this 60% discount ends on September 7, 2026, according to SteamDB
