Framework’s 192 GB Ryzen AI Max 400 desktop inches closer to launch

Framework revealed more information about its new 192 GB version of its compact desktop PC powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 400 Gorgon Halo chips, with a dedicated product page outlining its specifications. The updated configuration features increased memory bandwidth, potentially allowing the system to handle AI workloads that would typically require multiple high-end discrete GPUs. Up to 160 GB of the total memory can be allocated to the integrated GPU.
Framework's new system is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 495 Pro, which delivers 273 GB/s of memory bandwidth—6.6% more than the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. This improvement is attributed to faster LPDDR5X-8533 memory. The Strix Halo-based SKU uses LPDDR5X-8000 over a 256-bit interface, yielding approximately 256 GB/s of bandwidth. The new Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 retains the same 256-bit interface, but the faster LPDDR5X modules help it achieve the higher theoretical bandwidth.
AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 represents a minimal update to the previous generation. It retains 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads, but the maximum boost clock is raised to 5.2 GHz. The integrated Radeon 8065S GPU keeps 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units, with the maximum clock increased from 2.9 GHz to 3.0 GHz. AMD rates its XDNA 2 NPU at up to 55 TOPS.
The timing of the announcement is notable. GMKtec recently hinted that its Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495-powered Evo X5 Pro mini PC will debut at IFA 2026 in September. GMKtec also suggested more Gorgon Halo details may emerge around September 5 at IFA Berlin. Therefore, it would be reasonable to assume Framework and many others will also show off their Gorgon Halo SKUs around the same time.
For now, Framework still lists the 192 GB Desktop as “coming soon”. Pricing has not been announced, but the high amount of soldered LPDDR5X memory suggests the top-end configuration will likely be expensive.
