27-hour battery life: Framework Laptop 13 Pro beats Apple MacBook Pro 14

The Framwork Laptop 13 Pro is, by almost all accounts, a massive improvement over the Framework Laptop 13. For instance, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro is more rigid and feels much sturdier than the Framework Laptop 13. Battery life is also one of the areas where the Framework Laptop 13 Pro proves to be an exceptional upgrade. Where the Framework Laptop 13.5 with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 lasted only 8 hours in our WLAN test, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro lasted a whopping 19 hours in our review.

We are not only outlet that measured impressive battery life of the Framework Laptop 13 Pro, as PCMag’s review has put the Framework Laptop 13 Pro ahead of the venerable Apple MacBook Pro 14 (2025) when it comes to endurance. In PCMag’s standardized battery life test where the tested devices localy play a 720p video file at 50% brightness and full volume, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro lasted an excellent 27.5 hours.

As a comparison, the Apple MacBook Pro 14 (2025, M5) last just over 24 hours, while the Dell XPS 14 (2026) managed around 21 hours. Only the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite-powered Asus Zenbook A14 lasted longer than the Framework Laptop 13 Pro, as it clocked a whopping 32 hours and 24 minutes (get the Zenbook A14 on Amazon).

So, Framework Laptop 13 Pro’s use of a bigger battery, a power efficient Intel Panther Lake Core Ultra X7 358H chip, and LPCAMM memory has paid of with superb battery life. 

In true Framework fashion, you can retrofit your old Framework Laptop 13 with the new Intel Panther Lake mainboard of the Framework Laptop 13 Pro. You can also take advantage of the big 74.5 Wh battery, but you’ll have to also buy the Laptop 13 Pro’s new keyboard deck to fit the bigger battery.

The prebuilt Framework Laptop 13 Pro starts at $1,599 with the Intel Core Ultra 5 325 CPU, 16 GB of LPCAMM2 memory, and 512 GB of storage.
