Lenovo teases new Nvidia RTX-equipped budget-friendly gaming laptop

Lenovo has teased the Lecoo GT 16 through its Chinese Lecoo Weibo account, and the marketing hints that it will be an affordable laptop focused on value. The company didn't share much about the specs, and the overall design wasn't revealed either.

However, the teaser did confirm one core spec, at least to some degree, and it's the GPU. The gaming laptop is confirmed to pack the Nvidia RTX 3050, a relatively old entry-level dGPU, but the company didn't confirm the version.

To fill you in, the Nvidia RTX 3050 Laptop GPU is available in three variants. Among them, two have 4GB of VRAM, but one has 64-bit memory, while the other has 128-bit. As for the third, it's the best one among the three, featuring 6GB of video RAM, which, of course, has a 96-bit memory bus.

Other specs of the laptop are under wraps, and while the company didn't reveal the overall design, the teaser did give a side view. It shows that the left of the system will sport two USB-A ports and one 3.5mm audio jack (HyperX Cloud III curr. $69.99 on Amazon).

Another thing that's worth mentioning is that Lenovo doesn't usually bring Lecoo-branded products outside the Chinese market without rebranding them. In most cases, the laptops from this sub-brand go under the IdeaPad lineup in the global market.

On the note of the global launch, an IdeaPad Gaming 3 with the RTX 3050 already exists, but it's powered by dated processors. This Lecoo GT 16 may just be an upgrade in terms of the CPU.
